Do you guys remember when I visited Okinawa, Japan last year? It’s such a memorable travel experience for me but I haven’t finished sharing all of my stories and photos thereπ π So I’m going to start sharing them with you guys again now, I hope you don’t mind. Let’s start at Senagajima terrace, shall we?ππ
Morning guys! We’re on the road along the beach, heading to the little Greece in Okinawa!
This beautiful ocean view at Senagajima Island is amazing. You can see lots of airplanes taking off and landing at Naha airport from here too!
Mama loves doing this when she asks papa to take photos for her πππ Hmm let me try to pose like mama then… How do you guys think?π π π
We drove all the way from Naha town to Senagajima Umikaji terrace just for this cafe but it was worth it! All the buildings here are painted in white and it creates an awesome contrast with the super blue sky and the sea (do I sound like an artist here? Mwahaha) Hammock cafe is very famous, they have both indoor and outdoor seats. Even the weather was sooo hot, but we still decided to sit outdoor to enjoy the view and our colourful drinks ππ
We had been sitting outdoor for a while until it suddenly rained for no reason hahaha. I looked at other cafΓ© guests and was so surprised that none of them moved. They just sat there and they were not scared to get soaked at all π³π³ Well…as you know I hate being soaked, so I ask mama to move to the indoor area. It’s a lot more comfortable inside with aircond!!!πππ
Senagajima is actually very close to Naha airport. So you can actually sit there and watch those planes taking off and landing very closelyπ
It’s so exciting! I wanted to sit here to watch planes the whole day but mama said we need to head to our next stop nowπ
On the way to our next stop, I suddenly saw lots of school boys playing baseball, I screamed out loud with joy cos it was actually the beary first time in my beary life seeing people playing baseball hahahaπ π I think it’s such a cool sport, mama stopped by for me to take some photosπ
Finally arrived at Okinawa American Villageπ I was so curious about this place but mama said this American themed village is the perfect place to visit if youβre craving for American styled shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment that blends well with the Okinawa island culture. The village’s landmark is the giant Ferris wheel which you can pay Β₯β500 for a ride and enjoy beautiful views of the village and Chatan.
The famous Orion beer!!!! I asked mama if I can have a sipπ π π mama said yes then she ordered Coke, nuggets and chips for me instead arrrrrgh!!!!!If we were to talk about liquor that you should definitely taste in Okinawa, then itβs Orion Beer! Once you pour it down your throat, you will undoubtedly be captivated by its light and creamy feeling. (this is what it’s said in the website, I didn’t try mwahaha)
Mamaaaaa, I’m not going home with you! I have my own car now and it’s cooler than yours hee heeππ Oh but before you leave, please come teach me how to start the engine first, mama!π π π π»π»π»
It turned out that the cool vintage car wasn’t workingπ π π Luckily mama didn’t leave me here and it was getting dark already arrrrghππ Time to go back to Naha!!! Mamaaaaa, what we gonna have for dinner tonight?
Shabu Shabu for dinner!!! This place is awesome, I highly recommend itπππ The restaurant is very decent, clean and relaxing! I got to sit on the Japanese style seat too!!! The service was 5 star! There’s an uncle who was super polite, attentive and always made sure everything was alrightππ The soup tasted very good, it was served with Okinawa kurobuta and Okinawa soba!!
My last day in Okinawaπ’ I fall in love with the cityπ My hotel is located just 3 mins away from Naminoue beach, I can literally walk here every morning! It’s supeeeer awesomeπππ
Mamaaaaaa, can I go swim in there???? Pleaseeeeeeeπππ I forgot to bring my bikini but I can go naked maybe?π π π
So mama didn’t let me go swim nakedly π π π but she asked to climb to the top of this hill behind me instead. Mama said there’s a very beautiful temple up there. Let’s go see then ππ I’m soooo lazy to climb and walk huhπ
At the entrance of Naminoue Shrine πππ Mamaaaaaa, don’t tell me I have to climb up there myself? Arrrrrghππ
Mama! This is my last warning! I am not gonna walk unless you come carry me to go up there! π€π€π€
Arrrrrrgh where’s mama now????? Mamaaaaa… ok I walk….wait for meeeeee!πππ
Here I am at Naminoue Shrine ππ The shrine is Okinawa’s spiritual place which has been worshiped by locals for ages. Naminoue shrine is sitting at the top of a bluff above Naminoue beach, it’s the main Shinto shrine which has been a holy spot for a long time. The buildings were destroyed during the war in 1945, but were rebuilt in 32 years which ended in 1993. It is a great place to stop by if you are planning to visit Naminoue beach. ππ
Gotta clean my fur before entering the shrineπ No worries, I’m not going to shower here haha ππ This is chΕzuya or temizuya (ζζ°΄θ) at the Naminoue shrine in Naha, Okinawa. It is a Shinto water ablution pavilion for a ceremonial purification rite known as temizu. Water-filled basins, called chΕzubachi, are used by worshipers for washing their left hands, right hands, mouth and finally the handle of the water ladle to purify themselves before approaching the main Shinto shrine.
Now let’s write down my wishes and make a fish! πππ Can you guys guess what my wishes are?
Walking around the shrine…π π π Mamaaaaa do not tell me you wanna walk around until dawn??? Arrrrgh I am SO HUNGRY already!!!! Let’s go eat!π€π€π€
Yay!!! I get to have lunch at the famous 88 Steak house, Kokusai streetπππ Their portion is big but I’m sure I can finish everything hee heeππ We will be doing some shopping before heading to the airport. So sad we have to leave this island, I have had so much fun in Okinawa and I will be back again for sure!!!
Let me show you what I’ve brought back from Okinawaπ
Benimo sweet potato tart is the most famous souvenir from Okinawa, it tastes soooo good, not too sweet, I really really love itπ
I also got two Okinawa t-shirts for papa and mama, so sad they don’t have my sizeπ
Lastly, a pair of Shisha to guard my house π
